Pour 1 cup of boiling water over 1 tsp. of the chopped dried root; steep for 10 min,. then strain. Or, place the root in 1 cup of cold water, bring to a boil for 5 min., covered; then remove from heat. Steep for 10 min.; then strain. Drink 1 cup of tea 3 times each day after meals. Discontinue after 4 weeks; wait 2 weeks before resuming. Do not use if you are pregnant or have high blood pressure or kidney disease.
