Cowslip Plant - Natural sedative and calms coughs, joint pain, strains, headaches...

Cowslip is a common found plant that grows in the spring time.  I can even find them wild growing near my home!  Excellent use for homeopathy as a Medical Plant.  Herbalists consider it an excellent sedative that helps soothe tension and anxiety.  In addition, cowslip calms coughs and relieves joint pain, muscle strain and headaches.

As a TEA for pain due to muscle strain, joint ailments and headaches, pour 1 cup of boiling water over 2 tsp. of dried flowers; steep 10 min. Strain and drink 2 - 3 cups daily.

As a DECOCTION to relieve coughs due to bronchitis, whooping cough and chest colds, bring 1 1/2 cups of water to a boil.  Add 1 tsp. of dried roots and simmer for 15 - 20 min.  Remove from heat; steep 5 min.  Strain and sweeten with honey, if desired.  Drink up to 3 cups daily.

As a FOOTBATH for stress and anxiety, prepare the decoction with 1/2 cup of dried roots per gallon of water.  Pour it into a basin and add cold water until the temperature is just comfortable.  Soak feet for 30 min., dry and rub with a massage oil.  Put on warm socks and relax.

Cowslip is pretty amazing and multi- usefuly hey? :)
